About Event

GOD FOR THE KIDS: “Fun in the Sun!” was CASA Baez Segura Foundation’s first event. This event was organized in response to the need of many vulnerable children in this often-forgotten poor neighborhood in the Dominican Republic. Children ages 0-13 were invited to the event by local community leaders and a local Christian non-for-profit organization which has been operating in the area for over 30 years. The event was festive in nature and the children enjoyed a special time just for them which included: Bible reading, singing and several age-appropriate games including a large inflatable bouncy castle. The highlight of the event was how fun and festive it was. The kids enjoyed their pizza, soft drinks, and cotton candy! This event represented what God has put in our hearts as the CASA Baez Segura Foundation’s key differentiator which is to bring the love of God in a FUN way to children in poor and underserved areas of the world. During this event we served almost 70 children and their families. Also, we planted the seed of what CASA Baez Segura Foundation would become. We had an early meaningful impact in this community which has been plagued by many cases of domestic violence, sexual abuse, predatory practices due to sketchy tourism in the area. Our goal is to end those predatory practices, to bring the joy and love of God in a meaningful way and to provide well-needed resources to avoid parents, caregivers, and children to seek help from people that do not have their best interests in mind.
